What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the world’s oldest wellness system and sister science of yoga. Some say it’s as old as 10 000 years. It teaches us how we can create an optimal environment for healing to take place . We look at the root of what is causing the dis-ease within the body rather than just treating the symptoms. Ayurveda is individualized medicine well-known for its sustainability.

The workhorses of Ayurveda are the 3 “Doshas” or constitutions: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The Doshas are made up of the 5 elements of the natural world- Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. There are over 7 billion of us on this earth and each one of us has a unique body constitution. Some of us have more fire and water in our constitutions whereas others have more earth and space. Knowing the qualities of our unique body types helps us to treat our current imbalances such as poor sleep, overweight, mood disturbances, gut issues, and low energy to name a few.

The people who are most successful with Ayurveda understand that their health is their personal responsibility and that every decision they make either brings them closer to illness or closer to wellness. Ayurveda can make your life healthier, happier, and lighter. The decision is yours!
